Practice Areas

Pat is known and respected as an active member among Toronto's elite real estate bar. He brings deep experience and intuitive, creative and practical advice to matters which include:

  • Acquisitions, sales and financings of real property and businesses;
  • Negations with suppliers such as Rogers, Bell, Telus, and the Ontario Power Authority for property and roof top access;
  • Leasing and management of shopping centres and industrial properties, and
  • Land Development including:
    • Subdivision Plan Registration
    • Subdivision Lot Sales
    • Joint Venture, Co-Ownership, and Group Cost Sharing Agreements

Pat's practice includes the corporate support required for his real estate and business clients. Pat deals with incorporations, shareholder agreements and the purchase and sale of businesses, including professional practices.

As a trusted personal advisor, Pat continues his estate planning practice, helping clients design their personal and business succession plans and assisting executors to efficiently administer estates.

Professional and Community Service

Pat was an instructor in Real Estate for the Bar Admission Course for many years until the course was replaced by the current Licensing Exams. Since 2006 Pat has been retained by the Law Society of Upper Canada annually to collaborate in writing the Real Estate section of the Licensing Exams for new lawyers in Ontario.

Pat has been Director on the Board of the world-renowned Famous PEOPLE Players for over 25 years, and played a major role in their move to their new home at 343 Evans Avenue, Toronto and structured financing. www.fpp.org

Pat has provided pro bono advice to the Irish Dance Teacher's Association of Canada (Eastern Region) http://www.idtana.org. Pat's wife Rose, and their daughter Colleen, are Certified Irish Dance Teachers, and daughter Shannon competes at the North American Championship level.

Pat was recognized in 2014 by the Governor General of Canada David Johnston for his community service and was presented with the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award.
